Meditating Mascots Student Scholarship
THE MEDITATING MASCOTS OFFICIAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
The Meditating Mascots official student scholarship contest is open to all students currently enrolled full-time or part-time in a college or University in the United States Of America. One (1) award will be presented to one (1) contest winner totaling $250, along with a certificate and statue commemorating the accomplishment and the Meditating Mascots plush doll of his/her choice.
Essays will be reviewed by Meditating Mascots, Inc. and will be chosen based on the merit, profundity, and heartfelt impact of the essay.
The title of the essay is “How Yoga And/Or Mindfulness Practices Have Influenced My Life As A Student And/Or My Humanity?”
The essay is required to be 250 words OR LESS and must be submitted before April 1st, 2020. Anything over 250 words will not be considered. The $250 prize is designed to inspire people to think about the impact that Yoga, mindfulness, and meditation have had on their lives.
Applicant Eligibility
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States. Employees of Meditating Mascots, Inc., and College Yoga Day, Inc., its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, participating advertising and promotion agencies, and members of said employees’ immediate family and those living in the same household of employees are not eligible.
Applicant must be a current or incoming freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student at an accredited University. Applicant must have a cumulative college grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4-point scale, and be enrolled full-time or part-time at an accredited college or university between July 1, 2019 and May 31, 2020.
Applicants attending military academies are also eligible for this scholarship.
Distribution of Payments
The winning recipient will receive a one-time, $250 scholarship to be applied to qualified expenses, including graduate and undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board for the 2020 academic year. Funds are provided directly by Meditating Mascots, Inc. Payments are issued by Meditating Mascots, Inc., and are made payable directly to the student, along with a certificate and award commemorating the accomplishment and the Meditating Mascots plush doll of his/her choice.
Winner Selection and Announcements
The winner will be announced July 3, 2020. A team of judges will review all entries after the deadline of May 31, 2020. Each entry will be judged on creativity, impact, and/or transformation and relevance to the prompt. All entries must be shared with EdenG@MeditatingMascots.com and social shares must have @MeditatingMascots tagged.
College/University Approval
The institution of attendance must be accredited and listed on the official website of the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants attending military academies must be able to provide enrollment and reference contact information for verification. All school transfers are subject to accreditation approval.
Responsibilities of Recipients
The recipient must be actively enrolled full-time or part-time as a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in Fall 2019-Spring 2020.
Permissions
Meditating Mascots, Inc. reserves the right to increase the cash prize or to discontinue this program entirely, at any time, without notice. All submissions and quotes/details contained in the essays become the property of Meditating Mascots, Inc. and may be reposted or displayed online, in whole or part, without notification. Meditating Mascots. Inc. has full editorial control of each submission and shall be entitled to use, alter, and/or delete submissions for any purpose whatsoever without compensation to applicants.
Contest Terms and Conditions
The rules of the competition and the prize for each winner are as follows:
1. The promoter of this competition Meditating Mascots, Inc. is located at 1620 South Ocean Boulevard #10-A Pompano Beach, FL 33062.
2. Employees of Meditating Mascots Inc., its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, participating advertising and promotion agencies, and members of employees’ immediate family and those living in the same household of employees are not eligible.
3. Applicants must be at least 18 years old in order to participate.
4. Only U.S. Citizens and Permanent Legal Resident of the United States are eligible to participate.
5. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
6. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition. Any purchase or consideration otherwise given by entrants will not improve one’s chances of winning.
7. Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are available via www.MeditatingMascots.com/scholarship. Individuals may enter to win by clicking on the participation link on the MeditatingMascots.com website. Upon clicking the participation link, applicants must provide their name, contact information, email address, and provide their essay, so that Meditating Mascots, Inc. can notify the winner of the results.
8. Closing date for entry will be March 31, 2020 at 11:59:59pm PST. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
9. Only one entry allowed per applicant.
10. Odds of winning are based on the total number of entrants. Only one winner will be selected from the entire pool of eligible entries.
11. Winners will be chosen by Meditating Mascots, Inc., either directly or through an adjudicator and/or a panel of judges.
12. The winner will be notified by email and/or letter and/or call within 30 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, Meditating Mascots, Inc. reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
13. Meditating Mascots, Inc. will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected.
14. The winner will receive a one-time, $250 scholarship to be applied to qualified expenses.
15. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and Meditating Mascots, Inc. reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
16. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current federal and state data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant's prior consent.
17. Meditating Mascots, Inc. may make the winner’s name available publicly for up to 30 days after closing date.
18. Meditating Mascots, Inc.’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
19. Meditating Mascots, Inc. accepts no responsibility for entries not received for whatever reason.
20. Meditating Mascots, Inc. reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of Meditating Mascots, Inc.’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by Meditating Mascots Inc.
21. Meditating Mascots, Inc. is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
22. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Florida law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Florida.
23. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, or any other social network. You are providing your information to Meditating Mascots, Inc. and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy found at www.MeditatingMascots.com and/or available through emailing the company and/or the site administrator.
24. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
